As released in the Bureau of Labor Statistics report earlier last month, Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate was 4.2 percent in August, down from 4.3 percent in July.

Locally, according to a Bureau of Labor Statistics report released on September 28, the Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton metropolitan area unemployment rate stayed the same at 4.5 percent.

Since August 2021, though, the area’s unemployment has dropped 2 percent from 6.5 to 4.5 percent.

The data shows good signs of economic recovery as the state continues to recover from job losses caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
