As June begins, the national average for a gallon of gasoline has decreased, driven by tepid demand and a lower oil price. As of June 2, the average cost per gallon in the United States is $3.54, marking a 13-cent drop from one month ago.

Pump prices across Pennsylvania have also edged lower in recent weeks. At an average of $3.73 statewide, each gallon is eight cents cheaper than last month.

Lehigh Valley residents are enjoying some of the most affordable fuel prices in the Commonwealth. The local cost of gas, which currently stands at $3.64 per gallon, is down four cents from last week and twelve cents from last month.
