The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) most recently updated their labor force and employment related data for Lehigh Valley, PA. Titled “Economy at a Glance,” the list of data includes two data series: 1) Labor Force Data and 2) Nonfarm Wage and Salary Employment Data.
Some key figures for the Lehigh Valley relate to the overall fall in unemployment from 28,620 unemployed in December 2020 to 17,237 unemployed in December 2021, from a rate of 6.6 percent to 4 percent.
Total Nonfarm employment (in departments such as mining, transportation, education, hospitality, etc) also grew from about 364,900 to 378,300, a 3.7 percent increase.
